MEIOSIS wished to predict the ecological traits that make butterflies adaptable to climate change. It served two objectives: (a) Model the decreasing body size of butterflies as a response to climate change across different environments, (b) Map species\u2019 traits that predict the ability of an organism to shrink\/ adapt to climate change in relation to its environment. Three scientific papers are drafted to be soon submitted for publication, together with the international MEIOSIS team, involving the University of Zurich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Z\u00fcrich (ETH), Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Temple University (USA) and Goulandris Natural History Museum.<\/p>\n

MEIOSIS project is led by Dr. Konstantina Zografou<\/strong>, post-doc fellow of the BCL in BAT Department of the University of Ioannina, and supported by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.) under the \u201c3rd Call for H.F.R.I. Research Projects to support Post-Doctoral Researchers\u201d (Project Number 7191).<\/p>\n
