Misinas) has published an article on the impact of climate change on butterflies today. The article and the video are available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/environment\/climate-change-worry-greeces-hungry-butterflies-2024-10-23\/\">here<\/a>. It refers to the Project MEIOSIS, which is ongoing in our laboratory at the Department of Biological Applications &amp; Technology at the University of Ioannina. The project &#8220;Museum spEcImens shed light in biOdiverSIty Shrinkage&#8221; is led by Dr. Konstantina Zografou as an excellence grant for post-doc fellows, funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation. Konstantinos Anagnostellis, collaborator of the project talks to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>We note that no butterfly killing has been conducted in the project&#8217;s scope. About 50,000 museum specimens were handled to measure the size of butterfly wings to investigate the body size trend of butterflies in the last century under global warming.
